Pleione chunii x humilis - I don’t know what it’s name is. This must have been an eBay purchase

Hi Paul,
That chunii x humilis is curious... I looked on the Pleione Info website, and that is not a hybrid that has been registered. Of course that doesn't mean it doesn't exist! However your picture doesn't show much influence of humilis!

Tim- I can see the chunii -small and chunky!  I’d thought the early flowering might be from Humilis I’ll try and check my eBay records in case it’s me being daft

Chunii x Humilis was a cross made by Kath Fairhurst with the seedlings raised by the late Peter Clarke . Flowers on these vary from pure white through to pale pink with varying lip markings .This cross was not registered because it flowered after Kath had stopped growing Pleione and a fair few other unregistered nice crosses from Kath are also possibly still around. Paul you most certainly would have purchased this on Ebay from Pleionecyclamen.. This cross I believe has also been done more recently by Anthura but no idea how these compare or if this is indeed a reverse cross.

Hi all, first time posting to the forum.  Great to join you all and share my collection & cultural tips through the year if of interest?

I've also got several Disa, carnivorous & other orchids, inc. tropical, native terrestrial and a handful of calanthe & cypripedium.

P humilis had only one flower to start the season but didn't fully form, but P forrestii has not disappointed.

Hello Dave,  lots to find of interest with orchids, isn't there?  So easy to get addicted to these as to other plants - thank goodness these addictions are still legal!!

Hi Paul,
Thanks for kicking the show off. ... My season is quite a bit behind yours, but things are starting to look promising!

This week P. Lhasa "blushes" is out.  One from Ian Butterfield a couple of years ago.

I was lucky enough to get 30 odd BEF pots & pans from the Manchester Cactus Society.  These can literally last decades, almost family heirlooms!

Wow!
30 BEF pots!!
They really are wonderful things. I don't know how old mine are, but at least 20 years for sure.
