Is this Massonia latebrosa ?

Hi all ,

In year 2013 I have received from a contact some bulbs of Massonia species ( he had sowing this plant ...but he had no further interest )
There are some interesting plants which I have never seen anywhere from other sources
I have now 3 strange Massonia ( called on the label Massonia depressa ex Karoopoort )
Those plants looks for me not like typical M.depressa so I was always seeking for a closer ID
After reading the description of Massonia latebrosa ( which came also from Karoopoort ) I had the idea that my plants could be M.latebrosa ...now I'm interested to hear what other plant friends thinking

Now today have two plants the flowers opened ...and I take it inside the house for taking pictures

What is our opinion ?

looks perfectly OK for latebrosa to me Hans. Flower morphology could be confused with echinata from Oorlogskloof, but leaves with purplish markings and longitudinal streaks typical for latebrosa, like also the distribution being Karoopoort. Very nice.

Wonder if this is the same species I saw west of Laingsburg? Seems to be in the right direction.

@Humble Haws, do you have any more pictures perhaps?  and a slightly more precise location definition?
Laingsburg is approx 125km East of Karoopoort, being mentioned in the latebrosa publication currently as the single known location of latebrosa. Interesting picture for sure.

The locality is SE of Konstabel Station, I was there to see Haworthia pulchella and stumbled across these Massonia. They looked like something special, due to the purple spotting and rough texture. Sadly, I did not get any clear pictures, but here is the only other acceptable one.
