'Seeds of Peace' - Source of seed of bulbous species
« on: July 25, 2014, 02:25:38 PM »
An exciting new source for seeds of bulbous plants is announced from Oron Peri:

"After having so many requests for seeds in recent years, I have decided to start doing it on commercial basis. Inspired by the late Jim Archibald.

The business (if you can call it one..)  is run in equal parts by myself and my friend and partner for work Mansour Yassin, who happens to be a Muslim.
We thought  of naming our venture as 'Seeds Of Peace'** as we both believe things can be done here differently...maybe we are too naïve.....time will tell."

I am sure we wish these friends success in this venture

There is no website for this venture- order from the list. Here is the first list from Oron and Mansour -

** Please note that there is an existing organisation with this name that is not connected  with Oron and Mansour's seed venture.

Such a wonderful new venture - we know that seed will certainly be correctly labelled.
All the very best. My email has been sent for a few packets.

An article about Oron and Mansour in the Guardian newspaper :

Gardens: saving rare plants in the eastern Mediterranean
Two plantsmen in Israel – one Jewish, the other Muslim – are on a mission to save their region’s rare native species

I utterly love the name of Oron and Mansour venture, with all the meanings it implies! I've started to browse through the list - so many rare & interesting species.
I wish a small greenhouse will fall in my backyard from the sky ::)  ???
