Title: Lovely fern
Post by: Brian Ellis on June 07, 2012, 09:59:27 AM
Could one of you expert fernatics tell me what this one is please?  It was growing at the base of a wall in East Ruston Old Vicarage, I managed to bump into Alan Gray, but he couldn't remember offhand and the label had been appropriated!  I thought it was lovely as the downward pointing leaflets (?) gave it such a wonderful texture.

Polystichum setiferum "Plumosomultilobum'. I thought it was mine, just expanding in an almost identical position!

Isn't it lovely Brian. After your post I had a look at 'Polystichum Cultivars' by J. W. Dyce (from BPS) and saw all sorts of wonderful variants of setiferum, but this one must be one of the most attractive.
