From the Show Secretary: It seems that " at the moment all traffic entering from the south is diverted over Bridge of Dee ( which is one way), then has to either go along the riverside, or along Holburn street Holburn bar, to get on to Great Southern road to pick up the usual route to the park via Murray terrace. King George bridge is only open southbound. This may change in a couple of weeks as work switches to the southbound carriageway of King George bridge. This is causing major delays (30 minutes plus)at busy times. Hopefully it should be fairly OK early on the Saturday morning oof the Show, but it is certainly worth alerting people. "

A good show in progress there, Stan! I shan't see you there, but I hope you travel safely and have a good day.

From Ian Young, judging today at the Aberdeen Show, comes this image of the Forrest Medal winning plant - a super pot of Paris quadrifolia shown by John Lee from Glasgow.....

Congratulations, John!

Another pic of John's Paris then Mike Dale's Primula kisoana which took the Craig cup for best primula. Your correspondent retained the Walker of Portlethen trophy for most points in section 1 as well as the Simpson salver for a dwarf rhodo wth R. Madame van Heck; I also received a merit certificate for a dwarf Enkianthus.

Sorry I was not able to attend this year. It looks to have been a good show. The number of entries in section 2 is encouraging for the future. One new hip 6 weeks ago and a second one soon. Hopefully I will be back next year.
