I was hoping to go to the Early Bulb Day tomorrow but I see that the majority of trains from Edinburgh to Dunblane have been cancelled. It looks as if you might be able to go to Stirling and change but I don't feel confident about trying to do that. Does anyone know more?
Edit: I've been able to answer my own question:
A fault with the signalling system between Stirling and Dunblane is causing disruption to journeys running to and from these stations.
To help with your journey, rail replacement buses are running between Stirling and Dunblane, calling at Bridge of Allan.
-
And today the rail from Edinburgh to Dunblane service is shown as running! I'm going to take the chance that this is true.

Photos from President Colin Crsobie of getting the hall ready for the Scottish Rock Garden Club early bulb day in the Victoria Hall in Dunblane -some of the the plant sellers prepare and the chairs are set out for people to enjoy the four free talks!

I made it to the show exactly as scheduled. But I met a lady on the train who had seen the same cancellation notice that I did on the previous day so I'm not totally mad. It was an excellent day and the hall seemed full (but I did not take any photos).
-
A most enjoyable day all round. First the display of bulbs and some other plants. Being non competitive means that plants are brought in that might not make a conventional show bench leading to more variety. Some pics soft due to over reliance on the auto focus.

I just learned today (!!) that the SRGC star that is Sandy Leven has been announced as the new Honorary President of our Club. I cannot believe that this news has effectively been "sat on" for so long and I have posted in the SRGC Forum in an attempt to let a wider audience know of this good news...... See here : https://www.srgc.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=19191.0
Congratulations dear Sandy - no one deserves this honour more than you
