Such a pity it clashes with the SRGC Aberdeen show.  There are also at least two other events I'd like to attend on that day but I can't be in 4 places at once.

Primula chionantha, three plants from AGS seed sown 19/1/17. They first flowered in October last year. Interestingly one of the white ones threw a fasciated stem then, but now it is the turn of the violet flowered plant to do so...

I love the new foliage when it comes through - heavily dusted in gold farina.

Very nice, Gail :). I just pricked out P.chionantha seedlings from seed ex seeds.
I have never managed to grow it to flowering stage, it always dies during winter, but now I have a new bed where I will try it again.

The first Primulas are also flowering here. These are unnamed ones, grown from Primula 'Jessica' -seeds, but they are not like 'Jessica' (which had dark foliage), very nice anyway.

Lovely plant Gail. It's one of my "you buy 'em and then loose 'em" species, of which there are many!

Yes, I have all too many of those. This is a new acquisition which I thought I'd better record for posterity in case I lose it! I've also got the white flowered form 'Alison Holland' so hope I see it flower before I kill it...

Primula vialii has the  reputation of  being quite  short-lived - and I  hear  that the  new  white  form is the  same - and that it ('Alison Holland')  does not  set  seed.

Primula polyneura (or a plant grown with that name) flowered earlier in June.
Also Primula waltonii started to flower already in June 10 and is still flowering. It has a peculiar flower stem this year.
This orange primula was grown from Insriach hybrids seeds, and it is flowering right now. Is is P.x bullesiaana?
The last one is grown as P.burmanica, I was expecting a redder flower but it is a late flowering and is now starting to grow second round of flowers so it is only in the beginning of flowering.

Nice leaf on that polyneura Leena.
Having been fairly pessimistic about 'Alison Holland' - it is now flowering for me...

Nothing really fancy but I'n thrilled to see that this potful of gold-lace primula survived last summer and then the winter to re-flower this spring  :)
cheers

And it's  not  a  half-hearted effort, is it? Super!
