This lily doesn't seem to know which way is up! Not sure what it is, probably an Oriental hybrid. I am interested to see if I get a bulb at both ends. Has anyone else seen this problem?
Erle in Anglesey where it is still too cool and, dare I say it, not enough rain.

Lots of lilies make underground stems. If it had been in the open ground, the stem might have emerged a foot away from the bulb. That makes life interesting when you are trying to transplant.

As Gene said it looks like one of the running lilies. Lucky it didn't find the holes in the pots or it would have been off :) You will probably find the original bulb on the left hand side and a new smaller bulb at the bottom of the stalk later on in the year. If it had been in open ground there would be small bulbs along the long root.
