Hautes Pyrénées

(1/2) > >>

Yann:
While most of the Alps flora is burnt the one from Hautes Pyrénées is still fresh, however walking under 39° is quite challenging on long distance.

Here're a few photos took between Luz Saint Sauveur and Gavarnie. Iris latifolia, Viola cornuta, Rosa pendulina, Brimeura amethystina, Geranium argenteum are just a few among many species currently in full bloom.

Yann:
Veronica ponae, Colchicum montanum, Geranium cinereum, Aconitum napellus, Saxifraga longifolia

Yann:
Allium schoenoprasum, Allium lusitanicum, Linaria supina, Campanula trachelium

Yann:
Geranium phaeum, Allium sphaerocephalon, Sideritis hyssopifolia subsp. eynensis, Selaginella selaginoides, Oxytropis neglecta

Maggi Young:
So hot in the mountains - it's a wonder there are any plants in flower at all.
