Stan da Prato:
Ian Christie won  the Forrest medal - his first surprisingly - with a fine pot of Cypripedium parviflorum. He also took the Craig cup for best primula wth P sieboldii.
Local growers Bill & Helen McGregor took the Aberdeen quaich for the best plant in sectoin 2 with Trillium grandiflorum  which also received  a merit certificate. Bill & Helen also  won the Brian Bull trophy for class 63 two rock plants distinct.
Nick Boss received a merit certificate for his Scottish native  willow Salix herbacea.

Stan da Prato:
David Millward received  a merit certificate for his fine Ramonda which had won the top award a week ago in Dunblane. Your correspondent retained the Walker of Portlethen  trophy for most (900) points in section 1, won the Simpson salver for Rhododendron Snow and a  merit certificate  for a dwarf  Enkianthus. This was in the class for Ericaceous  plants other than  Rhododendron . It seems Enkianthus has joined several other  genera in being subsumed into Rhododendron  but that info is not yet in the show schedules.
