No rear seats to remove will make life a tad easier for you, Stan. Have a great day at the Show!
Don't forget to put the seatbelt on the Rhodo in the fromt seat!!

Our first joint show of 2023 ably organised by Alan Oatway and his enthusiastic team. They tell me there were 32 exhibitors with 229 entries totalling 327 plants in the open section, 11 exhibitors with 97entries totalling 111 plants in the intermediate section and two exhibitors with nine entries of 11 plants in the novice section.
Scottish rules so a Forrest medal which went to Dionysia tapetodes shown by John Dixon. A fine panof Hepatica japonica shown by Chris Lilley was also in the running for the Forrest; it received the Clarkson trophy for best ranunc. Don Peace won the Hollett trophy for most firsts in the open section. He showed many fine examples of Fritillaria and Corydalis. The Duncan Lowe award for best plant in a 19cm pot went to Mark Childerhouse for Dionysia Inca Gold. The (Loughborough autumn ) Bill Mackenzie trophy for three plants from one continent was won by Diane Clement.

Your correspondent won the Kirby Cup for foliage with Cryptomeria japonica Tenzan still largely in its winter colours. Anne Wright brough many of her miniature narcissi; Giselle received a merit cert and was in line for the best plant in a small pot while others received awards from the joint rock committee.

Last award winner was the RBGE gold medal display. They said they were a bit short of plants this time but show goers were all delighted by the floral colour at the end of the hall.
