Viola very slow to grow
« on: October 21, 2024, 01:11:53 PM »
Last winter, I lost a large number of Violas (very violent frost early in the autumn), including many manschurica, but this one escaped the hecatomb all the same.
It's a pretty Viola mandschurica with long blades, almost 10 cm long.
I like it a lot, but I find it extremely slow-growing for this species: it only produced 7 leaves and 2 cleistogamous capsules in 1 season, with no offshoots.
Why is this?
I put it in potting soil and fed it.
