It's looking good. Don't be tempted to water it from above especially if it is hot and sunny. This can cause mildew. They flower in June in Scotland.

What a pity it's not a good blue. Sometimes the weather can affect the colour a bit but it looks like you have had a poor seed batch. Now you know you can grow them then try with some SRGC exchange seed. Meconopsis x lingholme is a good blue and puts up side shoots so will survive a few years. What you have is Meconopsis betonicifolia, it doesn't look as if it has a side shoot for next year.

This forum is run by the Scottish Rock Garden Club(you don't have to be a member to join the forum) There are details on how to join the club rather than just the forum on a link on this page. You then get acces to the seed exchange, 2 magazines, shows and meetings in Scotland.
Meconopsis betonicifolia is the blue poppy but there are others, the best perennial is Meconopsis xlingholme. There is always seed of both in the exchange in November.
Hope this helps. Any questions about joining ask Maggie

Many thanks Susan; should I put them in the refrigerator for planting in 2016 or can I plant now?

Jean - I would sow the seed as soon as it arrives.

Folk may be interested to read what Ian Christie says about  seed sowing :
