Log 6.5

(1/1)

Andrew:
I had a trip to Wisley the other weekend and took my camera. Apology's Paul if I'm treading on your toes, I am sure Maggi will find a suitable punishment :D.

Near the main entrance someone had been very busy with some apples, making a design from a local school.

The meadow was still looking good,

with Crocus speciosus

and Crocus nudiflorus.

Up the rock garden !

In the alpine house were an assortment of cyclamen and crocus ;D.

Crocus niveus MS658

Crocus longiflorus MS967
Does anybody grow the two MS forms ;).

A very nice form of Crocus mathewii with a dark tube.

Finally one last thing caught my eye Massonia pygmaea.
There were others in bud which we might get to see in the proper log.

Maggi Young:
Goodness me, that Apple display is wonderful, though I would rather eat them than see them, no matter how atttractive!

Paul T:
Wow, that Crocus mathewii is stunning.  That sort of colouration just doesn't look like a Crocus.  Beautiful pics!!

Andrew:
Part 2.

From the alpine house to the new glasshouse.

Complete with waterfall !

The dry area,

had a display of nerines.

Close ups, left,

middle,

right.

Finally there were a few colchicums around with nice dark tubes.

Thank you.

Maggi Young:
What a simple but very effective display of Nerines. Doesn't need to be anything complicated to look good and show off the plants well, does it?
