Ian posted pix like that in a Bulb Log... he felt they could be fungal threads.... but some thought they were feeding roots. I would expect even the finest feeding roots to have a bit more substance than the "attachments" Ian pictured. Those "melted" away with toouch, which certainly suggests a fungal context to me.
