Me too, John.
These bulbs are so suited to conditions in Southern Australia that they survive for decades on complete neglect. Often you will come across patches of belladonnas in "the bush" where a house might have stood a generation or two ago but virtually no sign of habitation is left except some "non native" plants like belladonnas, narcissus and roses!
I struggle to get regular blooms on ours despite providing "ideal" conditions! At least they are more tolerant of our frosts and droughts than some of the more tender nerines and lycoris.

Calostemma purpureum, a second, taller growing clone

  My C. luteum are on their third season, how long do they take to flower from seed?

I rescued some ?Hyacinths from an old garden. Is it possible these are just forced bulbs planted out or better still ......?

I haven't seen the Calostemma luteum before - lovely Fermi.
Calostemmas on the way to Eden Valley are all in seed whereas just outside our driveway the really dark pink ones are just starting to open up.
The whitish pink ones have mainly gone to seed now. Not as many flowered as last year.
