Part 11. I thought I had better throw in a few more split cups for Leslie. The reverse bicolor one is quite spectacular when the cup changes colour.

Part 14. Who recognised N. tenuifolius in Part 13? Our new Keira Bulbs' camera is much better for taking field pictures in our sunny Canberra weather. It is also very quick so I have been able to take a lot of shots that give a better idea of the number of seedlings that we grow. In our case it is a host of tiny daffodils of many forms and colours.

Graham there are so many beautiful cyclamineus hybrids there, that must be a lot of years work there. I noticed some lovely bi-coloureds.
One day I hope to have one some of my own. I am hoping that Josie will be a good parent for hybrids, with its tiny size it has to be a good start.
I am surprised how well they do in the fish boxes, I would not think they were deep enough.

some great stuff there! I'm glad to see we aren't the only ones with feral yellow hoops! ;D
I'm so impressed that you have so many good looking minis coming along as I think they are much neglected in the general daffodil growing circles (not to mention squares or rectangles - sorry, just getting in before Paul or Cliff decide to!). Central Victoria is seen as one of the centres of daffodil culture but not for miniatures unfortunately.

Graham the perfume must be overpowering with so many thousands. I do love the miniature narcissus and so happy that a miniature species trumpet has decided to seed itself around the garden.

So there are people out there looking at my photos!
All the photos I have showed so far are mostly early season flowers. By next weekend we will have moved into our mid-season flowers. Our season goes into October and we are only just ending August. About half of our daffodils are in bloom but there are still a lot to flower. I hope to post more photos of our breeding stock. I suppose the other thing is that we actually grow them outside so they are hardy little things.
We have some early flowering N. cordubensis flowering and some N. fernandesii but the bulk the jonquilla species are not flowering yet so the perfume is not great. By next weekend there should be a lot of perfume. Deadly if you are a bad asmatic or suffer hayfever badly.
Fermi, Brian Duncan is probably growing as many or more miniatures than us but his are more recent. A lot of ours are involved seedlings. The other person with involved seedlings is Rod Barwick. We have a lot of seedlings. A lot are intermediates. A case of just missed when breeding down! Very suitable for pot culture as can be seen from the fact they grow in boxes.
