I should have checked before I wrote. The first flight with Easyjet arrives in Newcastle at 10.15pm!! and the Flybe arrives at 12.35. There is always next year

Mark, see here: http://www.flywhoosh.com/   new, Polish-owned company (receiving government aid, I think for start-up in Scottand) You'd have to fly in on Friday afternoon and leave Sunday... those flights cost about £75 total. Sorry, that was one-way, return trip £139.33  Too much!!
