I found out too late that plants were being brought outside for photos. Hopefully Ian Bainbridge will show what he took
Mark, I think Ian Bainbridge was  purely photographing those plants which had been before the Joint Rock Plant Award Committee for the (RHS) report. Maggi

Galanthus elwesii 'Jonathan' which I believe is wrong. More later
A new colour form of Erythronium was on display
Galanthus nivalis 'Lady Elphinstone'
a very nice Galanthis plicatus plicatus

Narcissus jacetanus
Narcissus provincale
Narcissus 'Betty Mae'

Not locals. A well deserved Certificate of Merit was awarded to Narcissus "Betty Mae" grown by Jean Wyllie.

We're off to a good start there lads (and lasses of course) !

What a quite special Erythronium - we're bound to hear more about that I guess....
Thanks Ian and Mark - it almost feels as if I'd been there !
Hope to see lots more !  :D

I smell a rat. Stand on your head Luc and that should give you a better idea of the erythronium ;)

No, Anthony, not a rat... If the Iranian tourist board can advertise Frit imperialis as upside down tulips then surely we can have upside down.....crocus... ::) ::) ::)

A great day with much to see and hear. Thoroughly enjoyed by me. Good also to meet some forumists in the real, rather than virtual, world   ;D

Narcissus 'Betty Mae' was shown by Jean Wyllie, who would move with husband Jim to live in New Zealand in an instant !  This sweet little daffodil is named for its New Zealand raiser. No, that's wrong, see later post!!
N. 'Betty Mae' was recommended for an Award of Merit from the Joint Rock Committee.  The bulb display itself is non-competitive.
I thought that the new erythronium might have NZ connections, too. It had a look of Toolie's colours about it, I thought!

In Mark's shot of the audience, (not the full complement, by the way, more squeezed in later)have a close look to the right of the projector stand: above Ian Young's head, in the foreground:there's a blur, that is Chris Boulby. Must say, this shot does not do her justice! The woman sitting next to her at the very edge of the picture is Sue Gill. I'm in the row in front of them, with Carol and David Shaw, John and
Rosemary Lupton but Mark has missed us out :'(

And the alternative view from the one and ninepence part... You might just see the Bug Buff (to right) and the back of the Hopeless Galanthophile....
