Galanthus help
« on: March 06, 2011, 08:18:43 PM »
Don't know if anyone can help me with this, but I thought you guys might be the group to ask. I bought the plant in the photo at the 2005 Galanthus Gala labeled as Cedric's Prolific. At our Hellebore Open House this past weekend there was much discussion about is it / is it not Cedric's Prolific. Now I realize no one can see across the pond to give me a 100% definite answer, but I would appreciate the opinion of some of the more erudite Galanthophiles. Thanks,

wow I like it.

It's not Cedrics Prolific. Can you remember who you bought it from?

When you said across the pond I thought you were in Ireland but see you are in the USA

Sorry Mark, no. The original label was printed on a stick paper that was attached to a plastic tag. The nursery name, if ever visible is long gone.

Judith  - You must be very happy with that one.  I wouldn't mind a nameless tag at all!   A spectacular mark almost like a dumbell.  :o

Our Hellebore Opens is always a big event for us with our special friends helping out at the sale and then staying for the weekend. The plant geeks have to check out everything in the garden, nursery, stock beds etc. This Galanthus was one of the high points of the weekend. It's a late one for us, we're finishing up Snowdrops here, always nice to have something pretty to end with, rather like dessert.
