Early last year I sowed seed of Ipheion 'Alberto Castillo', two seeds came up and I grew them under 24 hour fluorescent light in a very cool basement circa 5-8c.   By September they died down but rapidly re-appeared and are now with 10 x 5" leaves each and very stout.  Last week to my surprise another seed sprouted.  Given the good growth I have been contemplating trying the same with some G. reginae-olgae and G. peshmenii seedlings (from kind forumists' seed) that sprouted a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone tried this and should I risk disrupting their natural pattern? Ipheions really don't seem to have much of a dormancy issue.

johnw - very strange bursts of rain this evening. +8c. Snow mostly gone but outer suburbs about 7cm.
