Crocus trial across Europe - want to play?
« on: September 26, 2009, 03:52:09 PM »
I tried to do this last year and failed. Can we do it now? We can buy two different Crocus that are freely available from garden centres eg a tommy and a chrysanthus. We can all agree to plant on the same day in a pot and leave it sitting outside on the sunny side of the house.

Who wants to take part?

Ummm
Do we water on the same day each week/month?  ;)
We really should all grow the same clone bought from the same source :D
What is the sunny side of the house when you get so close to the arctic circle that it never comes up?  8)
Oh and is there a standard compost recipe?  :P
How far from the house, some roofs have big over-hangs?  (Rain shadow issues)  :'(
Pots should all be the same size I suppose.  ::)
All  :P in cheek

Its a nice idea Mark but I think we have already got something along the same lines with many of us growing the same taxa in different parts of the globe and reporting on our plants as the season rolls along.
