Some Cypripedium in my trip
« on: June 24, 2009, 11:36:28 AM »
In the head of month, I do to Sichuan province , met some beautiful Cypripediums and other lovely orchids on mountain, share pictures with you!
smithii, very nice deep colore, ca.2600m, under small shrub

smithii

franchetii, ca.3200m, sometimes I can find ca.1200m forest, so I think it is maybe very easy.
franchetii
unknown, maybe you think it is tibeticum? I can tell you it is must be not tibeticum, the root more like franchetii. very nice flower color.
flavum(var.aurea), this type is so different with typical flavum, different altitude, different roots, and different flower petal. it is easy to frow multiple plants!ca.1000m~3200m
flavum,ca.1800m, under forest, very well drain
flavum,
tibeticum, the best form I think, large flower and very nice color! ca.3200m
smithii, big ball! ca.2300m

Wonderful, particularly that almost black one you started with.  Is that Primula tangutica near the end?  Love the colour.

Thanks for the wonderful pictures.

Stunning pics, Very nice cyps (especially the very dark one and the tiny ones), I like the primula too, I wonder if someone knows which species it might be? The flower is similar to P. euprepes but not quite...

Thanks for the wonderful pics.
