Some pictures of week 4.
Mostly we go for a visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to
avoid the crowds.
This week we had one day so beautiful weather and we decided to cycle through
the area and make a short visit too.
When we arrived the parking areas were almost full, but for bicycles there
is always a place just near the entrance.

Now I can show you how the garden looks with many visitors.
I show some pics too, how it looks after 5 p.m. on a not so nice day to compare.

People from all over the wordld visit the place, so there is an original
windmill to visit too. On nice days there is a long queue to climb the windmill.

I showed in the first week a flowerbed how it was planted in October and how it
looked in the first week.

David, for your calendar: 2nd half of April is the best time.. :D

Last batch Week 4:

The first two pictures in the last batch show October '08 and this week.
Only the spring picture is taken from the other side.

Keukenhof 4 014
Keukenhof 4 Fritillaria raddeana

On some lawns it is allowed to walk or sit and this seems to be a good place for a rest.

Keukenhof 4 Magnolia

We preferred to sit on a bank out of the heat with this view:

Some dogs are allowed on the lawn too:

These visits give us great pleasure .... while it is lovely to see so many people enjoying their day out in the sunny gardens, I must admit I like it better in the early hours when it is so calm and quiet!

I don't like it either to visit such places when over crowded.
From week five I mostly show pictures from early in the morning.
The garden opens at 8 am (M.E.T.) and this week the sun was just giving some warmth.
That is shown in the early taken pictures which look a bit 'foggy'.
