AGS Seed Exchange
« on: November 21, 2008, 08:00:20 PM »
Has anyone received the AGS seed list yet?
I was sent a form for volunteering in the distribution starting beginning of December, but haven't received the seed list yet.
No clues as to what's going on on the AGS website.

I asked that very question at an AGS Local Group meeting last night Giles. The answer was that the Seed List was not out yet.

Thanks for that, Giles.  I'm packing fiddly seed in between reading this, - I believe that's called multi-tasking   8)    8)
And I hope to meet you at Pershore on one of the distribution days?  And anyone else able to offer a day's work making up seed orders.  The more that volunteer, the easier it is for everyone  ;)

I put myself down for a few days and posted it off to Sandra yesterday.
I am assured it's great fun.

So, Diane packets seed as well as making the list and checking all the names and being up to date with all the taxonomic changes...?    :-X    Good grief.... how lucky are the AGS to have you, Diane?  8)

Lotto Winner Lucky, that's how lucky...... well, I know the members who get the list and seed are grateful.... I sure hope everyone else is too!  :o

Great news, Diane, as I'll arrive home about the same time the seedlist does!
Once again thanks to you and all the volunteers for their dedicated work. For those of us unable to avail ourselves of the other benefits of membership, the seedlist is the best thing - next to the Journal, which of course is of highest quality. Our local AGS group in Victoria encourages all our members to grow from seed to increase the variety of rock and alpine plants available to us. Despite quarantine restrictions there is still a huge variety of plants out there which we should be encouraging members to try.
I've made my selections from the SRGC Seedlist and will just have to wait till we get home to get the hard copy to send in as I don't think the on-line ordering is up and running yet.
cheers

.....and I would like to add that the fact we are 'allowed' to have this particular conversation on these pages, is a measure of how all inclusive the SRGC
seems to be!!! Keep it up!

AGS seeds arrived today.  Many thanks Diane and all your team.  Have enough clean pots, have written all the labels so hope to get sowing soon.
