first some views of the main benches.



Stan da Prato:
Cyril Lafong had a highly succesful show with the Forrest medal for Androsace vandellii which  also  took the Kilbryde cup for best plant in a small pot. He also  won the Bhutan drinking cup for best  Asiatic primula with P henrici and the Corsar trophy for best European primula with P renifolia and received  certificates of merit for Pleione Shantung Ducat and Iris suaevolens




Stan da Prato:
Cyril  received  yet another merit cert  for Daphne  modesta. Peter Semple won class 5 and the Curle Memorial trophy  for three plants raised from seed. His pot of Narcissus bulbocodium  took the Henry Tod Carnethy quaich for best bulb. Show secretary David Milward won class 2 for three plants from different genera and the Henry Archibald trophy. Your  correspondent won the  Alf Evans quaich for an ericaceous plant  other than  rhododendron  wth Andromeda polifolia  compacta.




Stan da Prato:
I also  won the Midlothan vase for best rhodo wth R. Pintail and by bringing  most  plants the Reid rosebowl for most points in section 1. 
In section 2 local member Chris Kelnar won the Midlothian bowl with a white Primula marginata.
RBGE mounted their customary fine display which  received a gold medal while the unobtrusive but rarely cultivated  Tristagma nivale was given a certificate of botanical  interest.
