Mystery Penstemon

(1/2) > >>

shelagh:
In the 2020 SRGC seed list I spotted Penstemon davidsonii menziesii macrophyllus. I looked it up and found it was a lovely dwarf P. However what has grown is not the diminutive gem I wanted. This is 70cm high, my pictures are not of the best quality as there was quite a breeze blowing. Can anyone please help with an ID.

Graham Catlow:
I’d hazard a guess at Huskers Red.

So called because of the red tinges to the foliage, I believe?

shelagh:
Thanks for the suggestion Graham but all the pictures I've found of Husker's Red have white flowers mine are pale blue with a white edge.

Graham Catlow:
Or a hybrid of…….? It is certainly growing in the same manner that Huskers Red does.
