This Erythronium idahoense (I received the seeds as E. grandiflorum ssp. candidum from Ron Ratko) has been flowering facing upwards for several years. I saw a picture of a similar up-facing E. grandiflorum var. pallidum from Ed Alverson in International Rock Gardener and was wondering if it is a trait of these species or just a coincidence.

Interesting! Is your up-facing Erythronium E. idahoense or E. grandiflorum?

I grow both; but, my grandiflorum have not flowered yet.
