Mostly bulbs. Gardening in containers and enjoying public green.

You have to keep the seedpots with colchicum seeds for at least several years as this photo shows.
One seed of Colchicum hungaricum germinated immediately (and now in flower) while others germinated last season and this season.

Another exciting issue of IRG is just online, which introduces new species to teach us more about the tremendous diversity of plants.
Latvian, Jānis Ruksans works with his Ukranian colleague, Dimitri Zubov, to bring us a new Colchicum species. This is
Colchicum kackarense
, a new autumn-blooming species from the Kaçkar Mountains in north-eastern Turkey.
Dr Zubov, as well as his work at the State Institute of Genetic and Regenerative Medicine of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, is a passionate and knowledgeable plantsman, especially famous for his work with bulbous plants.
This month we also learn about a new Leopoldia sp. from the Latvian Dr Janis Ruksans and the famous Swedish plantsman, Henrik Zetterlund. New names are also proposed for seven Muscari as Leopoldia.
So, a typically international issue of IRG – with cooperation around the world to bring this to our readers. We hope you enjoy it!

All my Colhicum are Fall Bloomers. I have unsprouted seed of some Spring bloomers.
My Androcymbium and Wurmbea are in bud.

Colchicum 'Lilac Major' is a bulb I got many years ago from Mrs Ruth Tindale, but that doesn't appear to be a recognised name.
Some friends here think that it's a form of Colchicum byzantinum,
