I didn't repot my roscoeas this year and was late in starting to water so they have not done well but some planted outside are doing much better.  I have twice tried to grow humeana alba from seed.  The first time I think all were white though not such good forms as the one I bought.  The second time none were white but I was pleased to get a yellow as well as a pink.  they were planted out and were looking good last month.

And Roscoea 'Harvington Evening Star' which has been in the garden for a few years.  It is a good doer in a pot or outside.

Roma Fiddes, near Aberdeen in north East Scotland.

Roscoea purpurea ‘Red Gurkha’

Quite an impressive Roscoea Herman!

Beautiful clumps Roma.
I planted all my Roscoea (painfully grown from seeds) in the ground two years ago and they are all doing well, actually better than in pots.
As long as there is good drainage they have  good winter hardiness.

Roscoea cautleyoides and sciilifolia fo. atropurpurea flowered somewhere in late June, R. schneideriana in July:

R. auriculata is in flower now.

Roma and Gabriela, beautiful Roscoea's! It is nice to see big clumps.
Gabriela, I thought that Roscoea cautleyoides is normally yellow.

Cautleya gracilis looks a bit like Roscoea, it stands in a big pot to keep it on place. Cautleya grows faster.

The plant shown in the picture is R. schneideriana Herman.
But now that you mentioned, R. cautleyoides can also be purple, and various shades in between. I recommend if you can still find it, Jill Cowley
book on Roscoea. It's a good read for the winter time.
I bought it when I saw that all my seed grown Roscoea were not what they were supposed to be. It has a lot of great info, history of introduction, habitat descriptions and much more.

Excerpts from the book (The Genus Roscoea, Jill Cowley):
