When & how does one sow this species/ Recommended soil mix would be appreciated as well.

We'd sow  this  in August, September for  preference.  Ian likes  to  take the  time  to insert the  seeds  in to  substrate  pointed end down, to save the  plant the  bother  of  locating  itself. (!)

This is  our  compost  mix- but  frits  are  happy  to  germinate  well   just poked in  sand, with a  gravel topping  if  you  wish.
