Spring Show time is nearly here.

The Caley will be holding its annual Spring Bulb Show at the newly refurbished Saughton Park on the 30th and 31st March this year.

"We had hoped to hold the show in the beautiful courtyard area of the park where the new Caley office is situated but, unfortunately, it looks like this area may not be ready in time for the show.  We have, instead, decided to go with our contingency plan of holding the show in a marquee erected in the park.

The marquee will be erected in the sunken Italian Garden near the Winter Gardens glasshouse. Do show your support for The Caley and enter your blooms in the show. If you don't have an entry, you can show your support by simply coming along to the show.

Our friends and colleagues from the Friends of Saughton Park will be providing refreshments over the weekend in a pop-up Cafe with all profits going to the Caley Glasshouse fund. So, if you feel like whipping up a batch of biscuits, turning out some traybakes or showing off your cake-making skills, all donations of baked goods will be gratefully received. The Friends of Saughton Park will be providing cakes for the Saturday cafe, so if Caley members could provide the cakes for the Sunday cafe, we should have plenty to go round.  All of your baked goods can be dropped off at the pop-up cafe in the conservatory area of the Winter Garden, either on the Saturday or the Sunday.  If you would like to provide cakes but can't make it to Saughton, contact Rona McDowall on 07572 308125 and we will try to arrange a collection.

Entry is free for all to mark the inaugural show in the refurbished park.  Parking will be at the Ford's Road entrance to the park where there is a larger car park. There is a smaller car park at the Balgreen Road end of the park, however this is mainly for disabled drivers. As this car park is closer to the marquee you may use it to unload items for the show but we would ask you to move your car after unloading.

Saughton Park and the surrounding area are serviced by a number of bus routes:
Lothian Buses - 1,2,3,22,25,30,33 and 38
First Bus - 23, X23

If you are able to do so, we would urge you to travel by bus to the park.

We look forward to seeing you at the show."
