Strange looking ericaceous plant
« on: August 25, 2018, 08:47:15 PM »
A friend sent me a picture of a plant which she found on a hike in the Dolomites. It grew on limestone with
Rhododendron hirsutum and Rhodothamnus chamaecistus nearby. Our question is: Are there any hybrids
described or what can it be otherwise? I would be grateful for any comment from the experts.

I wonder if it's sterile.  Still in shock!

Oh my word!  How extraordinary- never seen such a thing. It would be so exciting it is is a hybrid. It's exciting no matter what it is!

If you google Rhododendron x Rhodothamnus there are some images.
