A tale of success from SRGC Seed!
« on: May 06, 2018, 01:44:15 PM »
Don Peace -well known as a grower of considerable repute - won a Farrer Medal at the AGS East Anglia Show  on Saturday 5th May  with a  fine pan of Fritillaria pyrenaica.

These photos from Paddy Parmee on Facebook

Don Peace replied to congratulatory comments .....
"Well that was a bit of a surprise!
It's a seedling I selected from a 2002 sowing of @ScottishRockGC seed listed as ‘Black Form’. The seedlings were very variable and this one clearly has yellow genes as well as black ones.
#FarrerMedal - worth the 2:45 alarm call & long drive "

Always fun to grow from seed - and the success for exhibitors is not to be sneeezed at  either!

Our colleagues in the NRV are reminding members about their seed exchange - the same goes for SRGC, VRV, NARGS, AGS and all the other organisations with members' seed exchanges - do please support them!
