Hartside Nursery- Plants with Altitude -  have a few weather probs - Talk about it never rains but it pours! Hope they can get out to the Kendal Show with their plants for sale.
These  plants in flower look fab! They plan to get to Kendal Show via Carlisle......

Rob and Jackie Potterton have made it  to Kendal to get their plant stall set up for the show tomorrow....

608355-1

They clearly were not sure about the weather - so they brought their own potted sunshine....

Gemma Hayes  has been working with Keith Lever to  get the Aberconwy stand ready.....

608359-3

I see lots of temptation for the wallet  in  just these two stands!

This is the sort of weather faced by some on their journey home from the Kendal Show - this pic from Jackie Potterton -  I just hope everyone gets home safely.

I see lots of temptation for the wallet  in  just these two stands!

Temptation indeed Maggi, I certainly shed a few pounds today.....

A little thin on the show benches today, as only to be expected given the weather forecast and the recent severe cold spell, but there were some cracking plants exhibited today with a good show of colour in the hall.

Thank you to all the exhibitors, nurseries and visitors who braved the snow to be with us today. I hope you all had a safe journey home.

A quick post of what I hope  are all the winners -another  of the Farrer crocus  then Don Peace's  medal winning small 6 pan which included the Duncan Lowe award for the best 19cmpot ; he also took the raised from  seed award for a Corydalis and a merit cert for Primula Arduaine and not surprisingly the Hollett trophy for most first points in the open section.

Tommy  Anderson took the medal for six large pots as well as a merit cert for one of them, George Young took the Kirby Cup for best foliage plant and merit certs were awarded for the Wrights' Callianthemum, the Smethursts' Hepatica- a top medal winner here in the past- and  Darren Sleep's Narcissus.

Another merit cert went to Bob Worsley's Hepatica acutiloba, Kath Rimmer took the David Mowle award for best bulb in sections 2 & 3, Dave Morris won the Michael Roberts Trophy  for section 2 while Philip Adderley won the Reginald Kay trophy for section 3. Finally  a special award was given to Brian Burrow on his birthday.

More snaps tomorrow.

I'm glad to report that Rob and Jackie Potterton have arrived home safely  after that unpleasant drive in the snow from Kendal to Caistor.
