This photo from the show day is from Ian Christie -  if I'm not mistaken, this is the  Super Snapper Stan - in which case we may be fortunate enough to have some more photos in the pipeline!

Arriving at the show the first thing to strike the visitor was  the superb display on woodland plants mounted by Mala Janes.

Regular visitors to both the autumn and spring shows organised by this group will be familiar  with Mala's work but this one seemed even more comprehensive than usual. It received  a very well deserved  gold medal.

Now what I hope is a  complete  summary of who won awards. Some duplication with earlier posts will be apparent. Alan Furness  with his Forrest medal crocus and its two companions as it was in a three pan class. Then  Alan Newton's Draba just one of the plants that won him the Ponteland Bowl for most first points in the open section. Bob & Rannveig Wallis took the AGS medal for 6 small pots and also had a merit certificate for their very large Cyclamen hederifolium and an award of cultural commendation  for Empodium flexile and another merit cert for Hyancinthoides ciliolata in their 3 pan entry
