The Hardy Plant Society Galanthus Group holds an annual AGM & Study Day and in 2018 this will take place on Sunday 18th February, somewhere in the West Midlands.  A unique and popular feature of this event is the opportunity for members to sell snowdrops with just a small percentage commission going to the Group.

As above, the AGS Snowdrop Day is on Saturday 3rd February 2018.  AGS members can book now but non-members have to wait until 31st October.  There will be talks by Andy Byfield, David MacLennan and Wim Boens.  Nurseries attending include: Monksilver, Glen Chantry, Woodchippings, Ivycroft, Matt Bishop and this year Edulis Nursery.

I forgot to mention the venue (which is the same as for the last two years) http://www.lilleshallnsc.co.uk/ , Lilleshall near Newport in Shropshire.

First and Last depending on which way you see it!

Speaking to Joe Sharman yesterday I learnt that there will be a talk by Melvyn Jope on November 4th 2017 at Shorelands AKA Blacksmiths on G.reginæ-olgæ, I understand Melvyn is bringing bulbs for sale and Joe will also be there.

Also there will be a Snowdrop Event at The Old Vicarage East Ruston, home of Alan Gray and Graham Robeson on February 4th 2018, the day after the AGS meeting:

No doubt there will be further details later.

I am given to understand that the Shorelands/Blacksmiths event is still at the early planning stages so you should probably hold-off trying to make a booking until it has been officially announced.  But thanks for the heads-up on both events, Brian.

Emma T. had been thinking about organising an event for aficionados of autumn-flowering snowdrops but she has not written anything about this lately.  In my opinion, the real Cinderellas of the snowdrop world are the ones that flower in November and December and never get to be exhibited.

From Blacksmiths Cottage Nursery

We are pleased to announce that we are holding an Autumn Snowdrop Lecture on November 4th. Melvyn Jope will be giving the lecture and both Melvyn and Joe Sharman will have snowdrops and related plants for sale. This will be a ticketed event, more details will be available next week and tickets will be on sale from the end of the month.

www.blackcottnursery.co.uk

Did this ever happen?  Were details announced and tickets put on sale?  The web site seems to be out of action at present.
Almost in Scotland.

Beat me to it Maggs, just spoken to them and event tickets will be available around this weekend. Currently, Melvyn will be the only presenter and drops will be for sale!  :o
