Narcissus February 2017
« on: February 03, 2017, 05:18:15 PM »
The mild weather and low light is playing havoc with the stems on my hoop petticoat daffs, but I had to show you this pot of Craigton Clumper. There are 73 bulbs in this pot!

Wow! Given that it hasn't been properly light here for days and my greenhouse is in the shade mine have totally flopped.

The same's happened to many of my hoops, there has also been no wind to strengthen the stems. Good job they're not needed for a show!

Every time I saw pictures of him, I find that he bears his name well. I find it beautiful. If one day it is on the list of offer SRGC seeds in bulbilles, I adopt.  ;D

Another seedling of petunioides x romieuxii fully opened today. Its flower is flatter than the first one.

Narcissus cantabricus var. petunioides x N. romieuxii
A seedling bred in 2013 opens its first flower at last :)
2 more seedlings are coming soon.

Beautiful seedlings Tatsuo I wish ours would stay as short in the stem.

It is approaching the peak flowering time for our hoops, they will feature in this week's Bulb Log, there are so many new seedlings flowering.

Thanks, Anne :)

Here is another one. A self pollinated seedling from Narcissus cantabricus subsp. monophyllus S.S.120 Spain, Brazatortas. Almost all flowers of this plant are 5 petalled in the last 3 seasons.
