Primula 'Johanna' in an outside trough
Oxlip, Primula elatior and a red form of cowslip, Primula veris - both from SRGC seed ex 2015/16.
Seedling Primula flowering from the first time, from home-collected seed ex x pubescens 'Christine'. I have several seedlings, so likely to see some variation in them.

Nice set of Primulas Wim. I've tried Kusum Krishna (note the spelling!) a number a times under glass and failed every time. Perhaps it was telling to grow it outside?

Thanks for the correct, David. I've changed it in the original message. Over here it's been growing well outside in a trough for the last 3 years...Very slow though!

I like your Primulas, Wim, especially the ones with darker foliage (I have two plants grown from 'Jessica' seeds with also bronze foliage, but yellow flowers, which is a nice combination, too), and the blue one is stunning colour. :)

No, the green one is Primula 'Francisca', not Francesca.  Found by the late Francisca Darts on a compost heap at a garden centre in suburban Vancouver, BC.  She was a fabulous & generous plantswoman.

Of note Galanthus elwesii 'Rosemary Burnham' almost was named Francisca Darts until we caught the mistake and made a number of frantic phone calls.  Thankfully John Grimshaw came to the rescue just in the nick of time.  That wasn't yesterday...

I have also 'Francisca' (bought as 'Francesca'), it is very hardy Primula and survived  winters when many Barnhaven Primulas have died in my garden.

Thanks John, over here it is sold everywhere as Francesca, I'll do some re-educating ;-) My label has been changed already to Francisca.
