Out of Sight, Out of Mind
« on: March 08, 2008, 08:13:55 PM »
Earlier this week there were comments about Paul's pots and buckets. I thought I would get the ball rollong with a new thread for those who wish to show their not so neat areas. We all have them because we are all plantaholics - buy then think where to plant.

I hope I'm not the only one

I was going to say that it doesn't look too bad, then I saw this poor wee daff, struggling to survive with its prickly pot companion..... :o.....

I meant to take some of our junk today but got rained off at one point, then sidetracked by dog-trimming and walking!... Perhaps tomorrow, after work at the BEEB  :-[
Molly our lodger arrived today for a couple of weeks,..... as you'll see by her "before" photo, she was in a pretty furry mess, even without weeds!

well I can tell you there are 3 in that pot. Two accidentally lost their heads while I was weeding the pot. Roll on 2009!

Mark,

Do you plant anything?
Yes, I have lots of pots also but they are of plants I have propogated and are waiting to move on to someone else or somewhere else but not my garden.

Maggi,

Here in Ireland a "hairy molly" is a childish name for caterpillar - those hairy ones.

I'll tell the wee dog that, she won't be impressed,: Westies are very proud! :-X

My friends and I called those hairy caterpillars "pussy pillars" but I don't know ifthat was just our name for them or if other Scots children use it. :D

And if we are talking about the same caterpillars, we call them "furry bears"....(orangy-brown and prickly catepillar?)

That's 'em!    Does make me wonder how often you see bald bears, though.... I know those Americans are fond  or their Bald Eagles......... ::). ::) ???

Here are some of our messy spots, better not seen by visitors. Sadly, most of these areas are only too easily seen by anyone visiting.... not hidden away at all..... :P :-[ :P :-[

I'm glad to see other people have stuff in pots too long.  The trouble is I buy stuff I really want without thinking about preparing places for them.
