Nettetaler Schneeglöckchentage 2008
« on: March 01, 2008, 08:56:13 PM »
Today my wife and I visited the Snowdropmarket at Oirlich with our friends Peter and Truus, both wellknown to some important SRGC members.

It was very windy and cold but dry after a stormy night.
I made some pictures from forumists and other people and hope you will like the pics.

Oh yes, but who is this sympathic guy on the right in picture nr. 3  ??
Just a hint:  His picture is in his avatar of the Forum!
Luit van Delft, right in the heart of the beautiful flowerbulb district, Noordwijkerhout, Holland.

Sadly Luit died on 14th October 2016 - happily we can still enjoy his posts to the Forum

Great photographs.

Picture 2 has Hagen on the right. Is he counting his money?

Arne - what a collection!

You will have to help with other names - I have poor eyesight!!!!

I believe Gerd and Hagen are the easiest to know from their avatars.
I know you and dear Vroni, so that is simple... ::)
It is lovely to see Vroni looking so well, Luit, give her my love, please  :-*
I know that Ian would want to send his very best wishes to your friends Peter and Truus, of course.
I do not know Vroni's  friend though and I also cannot tell you who this nice man is in Picture 3 !  :-\
I think he is from the continent.... not that that is much help :-[  I could give a list of those he is NOT  ;)

I must say, it looks a very cold day but it was good to be able to meet so many friends there, I am sure!
I was a little shocked to see primulas on the tea tables at a snowdrop day!! :o :o

Mark, the event was a snowdrop market day at the garden of  Marlu and Günter Waldorf of the Oirlicher Blumengarten  in Nettetal, in Germany, quite near the border with Holland. There was talk of the event in other threads, when Günter joined the forum. search Oirlich.
I have not been able to enjoy Günter's own website because I keep getting error messages when I try to click on it, which send my pc into a loop and I have to shut down my web browser and start again.... you may have more luck .

Maggi, you would have been more shocked hearing I ordered a Galanthus in advance from my friend
Christian!  8)
There were some interesting plants I bought, like Polygonatum orientale, Callianthemum anemonoides, (interesting to see that nobody bought it) and so the same with Ranunculus calandrinoides!!  ???
The last one I now can try outside on my raised bed without covering in winter.

Here's another hint about the person on pict. 3.

He is one of the continental croconuts

Arne you may derive comfort from the fact that only models love their own faces on a picture.
but they need polishing first!  ;D ;D
I never liked pictures of my own!  :( ::)
I had two pics of and my better half thought this the best.
May be it makes you feeling better when I send the other one too?

Beside some snowdrops I bought the following plants: Anemone nemorosa cultivars (10), Eranthis cultivars (4), Astrantia major 'Sunningdale Variegated', Deinanthe caerulea, Disporopsis pernyi, Disporum flavens, Polygonatum falcatum 'Golden Gift' and Syneilesis aconitifolia. That's all.  ;D
