Primula petelotii
« on: June 12, 2016, 05:19:45 PM »
My Primula petelotii has produced  a series of small leaves near the spent flower heads, please see photograph. Is it possible to somehow propagate from these?

I would try pinning it down as if it were a strawberry runner....  ...there is a series of pictures showing this on the PrimulaWorld website....  .so it must be true..
http://www.primulaworld.com/PWweb/photogallery.htm      ..and then look at petelotii photos.

Hi Giles,
Many thanks for your reply, I have unfortunately cut them off and tried rooting them as conventional cuttings, but with the base of the leaves just touching the rooting medium (pumice) so they may still put out roots! I will keep you posted, but thanks for the Primulaworld site, it is very useful
