My garden daffs are just getting going!

.......... but see Anemones! Although my Corydalis have been good this year (apart from Craigton Blue which went to the great Garden in the Sky) my Erythroniums have been both late and disappointing. Also 2 weeks later than normal was my potted Prunus incisa 'Kojo-no-mai.

Are they the same thing?

Apparently so. It certainly looks like N. pseudonarcissus.

Finally, two little trumpet species:
N. nevadensis
N. yepesii

N. yepesii has been flowering here too for the last 10 days or so, ex seed from Brian Duncan several years ago.  It has the longest pedicel of any daff I've seen, although I don't grow straight longispathus.  Having checked with a ruler (sad I know ), it seems to match the original description.

Your nevadensis look very happy.  Here they are usually the latest of all, and still at least a week off flowering.

Don't know the name of this garden cultivar, but I am very fond of it.

Tow species narcissus in flower here, both from Anne, first is n. nevadensis and then n. rupicola, this has the tiniest flower I've ever seen on a narcissus, small but beautiful.

Rupicola is my favourite species, so sweetly scented too. It's the one that started me off on daffodils.

I have just noticed Anne that Philip's plants face normally, whereas my plant looks skywards, it's still a delightful plant all the same.

At this time of year, my wife often buys little pots of Tete-a-Tete from supermarkets. I was having breakfast this morning and noticed that one of the flowers in the pot on the table had 11 petals rather than the normal 6. Another flower from another stem on the same bulb had only 6 petals. Is this increased number relatively common and will it be the same next year or will the bulb revert to normality?

Took the pot out to the garden to take the picture below.

It has been years since I have seen the real Tete-a-Tete all I see being offered nowadays is Tete - with only one flower per stem.

One of the other bulbs in this pot has two flowers on one of the stems. Seems like a good buy of 3 bulbs in a pot for £1.

I always plant the bulbs from these little pots out when they have finished flowering. So now quite a lot in odd spots around the garden. Whether they are the real Tete-a-Tete or not they bulk up, flower early and have kept going for ages this year.
