Rimmer - You asked how long these Rhodophialas take to flower from seed.  Here's one getting ready, the seeds were sown in the autumn of 2011.

Came as Hippeastrum elwesii from Goteborg BG.

Later identified as: Rhodophiala elwesii

Later identified as: Rhodophiala araucana

Later identified as: Rhodophiala montana.

Ignore the label, last year I tagged all the yellows & salmons in flower in the mother pot.  It is glaringly apparent this year that all will flower salmon given certain light conditions.  When I send seed in to the exchange they will no longer be sent by colour.

john - +18.8c, humidity 95%.

Either I mixed up the seed or there was stray R. advena pollen in the wind but the above looks more like R. advena to me now that it has flowered.
