I don't remember ever seeing so many plants  and bulbs especially  showing their flowers so early. And with the mild weather no wonder there are so many blasted slugs and snails still around to munch them..... and mice to eat  crocus, and .... and ....     Grrr!

"Galanthus elwesii - Martyn Rix very kindly gave us stock of this fabulous autumn-flowering one from south of Gulnar."
Did anyone buy this from Rannveig Wallis? I did. Its flowering now in its first year with me. Cute at only 7cm high

G. 'Xmas' looking chilly today on December 29, and an open shot on a much fairer day with inner showing on December 26. This a new American introduction from Carolyn Grahame.

Absolutely have been enjoying each of your posts of your terrific drops. Rick

Very pretty shot of the "diamond encrusted" flower in the snow, Rick!

Haven't got this one Mark but I do have several forms of G. elwesii that came from Elizabeth Cairns in Kent that Martyn gave to her many years ago (they were friends as students). They are striking plants in her garden because she has left them to bulk up and make large clumps. One in particular has a very dark green inner marking. Not sure of their origins but they are likely to be wild collected mixed bulbs from probably twenty or thirty years ago. I will search out some pictures.
