Hi, I am currently in my second year of a diploma in Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh.

I am painting a serious of Arisaema this year and I was wondering if any of your members might have any seed heads that I could come and see to photograph and colour match, or if you could send some down when ripe? I am particularly interested in Arisaema griffithii and Arisaema intermedium, also if you happen to have or know of anyone who has Arisaema urashima or Arisaema candidissimum.

I'd be very grateful to hear back from anyone. cheers Marianne Hazlewood

Thanks so much I will check them out.

The difficulty with photographs is accurate colour matching, its accurate with a live specimen but photos can be all sorts of weird and wonderful tones depending on monitor, paper etc.

But I really appreciate your reply, thank you.

Hi. I have seed heads of A. intermedium looking good at the moment. I live just outside Perth so not too far away if you want to see them, but you will have to be quick. Susan

Hello Marianne,

I have fruiting seedheads still green on my arisaema thunbergii ssp urashima, the tubers have gone dormant but the stem is still green and fruits will ripen to red.

I sell these in my nursery, I have 2 left with seedheads on that I can post to you, or if you wish to "borrow" them for painting, let me know what you would like to do.

I can also post you an arisaema consanguineum seedhead if you wish
