summer deaths ...
« on: August 24, 2016, 01:39:37 PM »
Repotting continues.

Three different single bulb snowdrops are grown in one pot. What remains of two is a dry red brown fibrous material. The 3rd is in perfect condition. Ronald MacKenzie and Moortown Mighty have rotted yet Dryad Gold ..?.. is OK.

What has gone wrong?

Some snowdrops are more prone to particular diseases than others.  For example,  I believe that G. plicatus is more prone to stag. than other commonly-grown species.  So perhaps 'Dryad Gold' has hybrid vigour and was able to shrug-off whatever did for the other two bulbs.
Almost in Scotland.
