I've resisted them all!  Some tempting ones but £80 or £100 is a bit too much to risk on one bulb, and I know you'll have some for me if I'm patient Brian.   ::)
What is Ernie buying you this time?

I had thought the list would be sent to all on the Avon Newsletter list, but it seemed not to be the case - a friend kindly sent me this , so I post it here for  others.......

" Avon Bulbs' Dormant Snowdrop offering 2015

Alerted by the number of phone calls recently this should be what you have all been waiting for !  It takes us a little while to sort out and grade all the resting snowdrops and because we are unable to start till the summer showing season is over it does means that our list is probably the last out. Hopefully it is still worth waiting for?!

We anticipate starting to despatch these snowdrops to UK addresses in the week beginning the 17th August, if that does not suit you please let us know when you order.  Postage to the UK is £3.00, to EU addresses £10.00

Initially please order by phone (telephone numbers above and office  opening times at the foot of the email), in a few days time the list will be made open to all on the website when those that we have photos of will also be illustrated.

Inevitably there are a few varieties where the numbers are limited, but generally we have not included forms where the numbers are very low - they will be for sale at  events that we attend in the spring.

There are a few forms that we think have not been listed before anywhere, and some that we have not previously listed:

David Baker - An early flowering form possibly of Atkinsii, which show handsome green-marked long outer segments.  Commemorates a wonderful galanthophile and plantsman.(£22.00)

Egret – From the well-known galanthophile Phil Cornish, this selection of G.nivalis has amazing outer segments curled back like the feathers of this charming bird and much coveted by all who see it. (£75.00)

Ermine Lace - One of the best hybrid doubles from the legendary Hector Harrison famous for his Diascias. This vigorous plant has an attractive and unusual X shaped inner mark. Rarely if ever offered. (£50.00)

Ginns byzantinus - Given to us by bulb specialist Ray Cobb (who also has a snowdrop named after him) this mid-late flowering hybrid has inner markings rather like G.Lapwing but a month later. Easy and clump forming.   Probably not the form grown as G.plicatus Ron Ginns. (£20.00)

Green Comet – A seedling form John Morley’s snowdrop rich garden in Suffolk, this form has very large flowers held above alluring broad green leaves. (£20.00)

Ivy Cottage Corporal - A boldly marked hybrid, aptly named as it recalls the chevrons on a corporal’s uniform. Strong growing and vigorous. (£15.00)

Jonathan- A recent discovery, this selection of G.elwesii has rounded flowers which appear slightly creamy when first open. (£22.00)

Marlie Raphael – From the enchanting garden of Kingston Bagpuize House in Oxfordshire, this form of G.elwesii has very long outer segments with pale green splashes. (£60.00)

Moreton Mill – From the garden of Eddie Roberts in Shropshire, this is a tall and strong form of G.nivalis poculiformis, stunning when seen as a clump. (£25.00)

Oosterhouw (pronounced oaster-how) – A late flowering form of G.nivalis from Holland which shows a freaky mix of extra petalloid segments above and below the ovary, most unusual. (£65.00)

Phantom -A touch of mystery surrounds this snowdrop as its origins are obscure. A large rounded giant hybrid poculiform which almost always shows two scapes, the second of which resembles G.plicatus ssp. byzantinus, so two different flowers from the same bulb! UNIQUE! (£90.00)

Rosemary Burnham - Originally from British Columbia where G.elwesii has become naturalised in a few estate gardens. This amazing virescent form appears to glow in certain light, altogether beguiling.  Enjoys a dry summer rest. (£35.00)

Trinity - A stunning new G.plicatus which always produces two or three scapes from large bulbs. Standing bolt upright, the flowers have a wonderful green inner plus outers marked with what resembles a pale green scallop shell.(£80.00)

Tryzm - The name includes parts of both parents namely trym and G.rizehensis, as this charming and vigorous hybrid has matt-green applanate foliage and flowers which have boldly green marked outer segments.(£80.00)

Verdigris -  A form of G.nivalis from Normandy, with an enchanting green tip and pale green washed inner markings. Incorrectly listed as G. Verdure last summer, but sent out under this name. (£60.00)

Yashmak - A form of G.elwesii which has the faintest basal marks on the inner segments reminding us of the Yashmak. (£35.00)
