Thanks, Chris, I found them in the January page. no need to repost, they are the same.

I like this kind of face, even though it may be a little sad.... I suppose 'doloroso' could be another group name  ::)

Hans guck in die Luft.... Hans gazes to the sky..... there is an English translation ofthe cute poem in Hans' link... :D

Hans

Thanks for the complete answer and link.  Only started looking at Galanthus in the February thread and Gardens Visited.  Must find time to backtrack on January.

This looks the same as Grumpy and Whittallii Group

It's the type of snowdrop I call "sad-faced clown" because the marks on the inners look like two eyes and a large downturned mouth .  There does not seen to be a proper collective name for this type of snowdrop marking.  Perhaps if someone could latinise "sad-face"?

Alan :

Maybe a name for this typ  :(  could be "depressive" typ - but I think this is not a nice name....

a much better option would be : Desafinado

.....this is portugese and mean ( in german ) : leicht verstimmt !
;) after the song from Antonio Carlos Jobim .....

Oh dear.  I studied German for three years in school but that was rather a long time ago now (and I'm not sure I know any Portugese at all).  Can somebody manage an English translation of "leicht verstimmt"?
Almost in Scotland.

Maybe "sadly"  of "upset"  ???

...but I am happy with "Hans guck in die Luft" !!!

It seems to be very vigorous and some day I also will have a clump and send you a picture, Hans.
Best wishes,
Renate

I'm happy if 'Hans guck in die Luft' not only grows in the south of Germany ;)

Narrengesicht and Geisterschwingen are very desirable. What do their names translate as?
