Graham,
your new seedlings are great - can't wait for the next list ;D
Here's two I got from you a couple of years ago:
Narc.KB-M-10-2000, a pale yellow petal and a deeper trumpet,
Turland's Gold

The next is the hybrid Narc fernandesii x N, viridiflorus from Lawrence Trevanion

cheers

Hi
Fermi, our minis and intermediates are fertile. Turland Gold has good parentage and is fertile both ways.
Lawrence's seedling should be crossed with standard daffodils as they are tetraploid. Most of our miniatures etc are diploids.

A yummy New Zealand raised Narcissus cultivar N. 'Ngaire Rogers' and although i forgot to repot earlier in the year it's again flowering with 10 perianth segments, standing at about 120mm.Opens yellow fading to white .

Now that's a cheery, pretty flower.

Hi
We have been working to stabilize our 10 petal miniatures and I think we have achieved. that now. We have flowers that are very similar to "Ngaire Rogers" including a range of all yellow miniature flowers. The only bit that surprises me is its classification as a Division 12.

Hi
Anne, you are correct, they don't fit the parameters of the exhibition daffodil world. But then again, for a long time neither did doubles or splits and to some extent miniatures and intermediates are second class citizens. However, they are likely to more interesting to the commercial world as people like things that are colourful and different.

Ngaire Rogers from the South Canterbury town of Timaru where I used to live until 1989,was a skilled grower of many alpine plants and mini bulbs (it was in her garden one day that someone said "Why don't we start a Fritillaria group in NZ" and the rest, as they say, is history). Mostly, the money she raised by selling was given to local charities.

Duly visited Hokonui yesterday and as always, the range of available plants and even more, the super things coming along, did my heart and health much good, raised my spirits no end. As for what I brought home with me, the term "megabucks" springs to mind. ::)

We can't take it with us, Lesley! Everyone I spoke to shopping at the trade stands at Dunblane had promised themselves (myself included) they'd not buy anything. Somehow we had all managed to get to a cashpoint beforehand and went away with armfuls of plants!  ::) I mainly purchased NZ plants, which I'm hoping will rather like our climate out here.

You're right there Matt, of course and I see no point in dying as a rich person. Rather enjoy what one can, while there's still time. I notice all my friends are now saying just that, "enjoy it while you can," which seems to suggest to me that they may think that MY time to do so is rapidly drawing to a close.  :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D

Hi
Lesley, I will cheer you up with some of your favourite daffodils - splits and doubles!!
The double is very good. It is a standard on a tall stem and exhibition quality. It is quite early which is a huge plus.
The small intermediate split cups are also very good - ideal for garden borders as they are on dwarf stems.
The last one is a nice bright miniature with just a few too many petals.
